About our Sensei

Sensei Darwish is a passionate Daito Ryu practitioner  Born in 1969 in Alexandria,Egypt. Founded Koryukan 1999 for a dedicated study of Daito Ryu . The name Koryukan can be translated to higher or advanced learning  Or traditional place,art of the samurai. Became Hakuho Ryu Aiki budo representative in Canada in 2008 formed Daito Ryu Aiki Budo Koryukan and he continues to follow his passion for Daito Ryu by traveling to Japan to keep the flow of the art.

He strongly believes that Daito Ryu has the potential to transform the practioner to a better balance in mind and body that a person might need for the everyday challenges that life sends our way.

His goal is to spread the teachings of Daito Ryu and build a balanced community ,built on Respect , Bravery , Honesty and comradery . Mannerism (rei-ho) is very important in our study we begin and end each class with a bow to each other and to the masters of the past.
